Needed: A few good testers
So, as 1.1 spirals toward release, I’m entering the phase where I need some testers. To that end, I’m teaming up with Thomas Hawk to find the best of the best.
So, if you want to test jUploadr 1.1, fill out a comment on this blog entry explaining to us why you’d make a great jUploadr tester.
Here are some things I’m looking for:
- Zooomr user
- Long time jUploadr user
- Someone who provides constructive, well-written feedback
- Someone who can give me exact details of what went wrong and how you made it go wrong
- Linux, Mac and Windows users
- QA Experience highly preferred
I already have several excellent jUploadr testers for the flickr components, and I’m looking for someone just as good for the zooomr side of the house.
So have at it! Comment Away!!

I don’t have much QA experience, but i’m enough of a geek to give constructive feedback (i work at ibm if that carries any weight).
and yes, I’ve used jUploadr for flickr, run windows, and am a zooomr user. Either way, I appreciate all you’re doing in developing this!

Besides QA’ing my own software and web apps. I have been a beta tester in a couple apps online. I generally take screenshots of the errors/exception as well as written information as to how I made it happen.
I do have a Pro account on both Zooomr and Flickr and itching to upload lots of photos.

Slightly off-topic: I’d love to just use a current version from CVS if it works at all (Zooomr upload is a pain via the web interface…).
It doesn’t compile, though… Do you have a somewhat working version you’d be able to check in for us programming nerds to use on our own risk?

It’s great to hear that Zooomr will have an excellent uploader.
I’ve been involved with the full SDLC mainly for VB.NET apps and ASP/VBScript based websites. I am a Windows User.
I have a pro account for both zooomr and flickr and ready to upload photos.

Everyone but Hermueller: Post over here
Hermueller:
The only thing that doesn’t compile is one file in the org.scohen.juploadr.app.carbon package, and its reference in JUploadr.java. You may safely delete this file, and remove the references in JUploadr.java. I should have everything compiling soon.

Giuliano:
You *have* a copy, and you know the link to update it

Hermueller:
Everythig in CVS should compile now.

Thanks a lot for the support!
But CVS HEAD seems to be missing the whole org.scohen.juploadr.app.tags package.
I don’t want to be a pest here, but I guess you’d want to have that code under source control anyway
Take your time, though - I definitely don’t want to hinder 1.1 development…

Hermueller,
Just a little eclipse glitch. That package somehow was added to .cvsignore, everything should be there now.

So I commented over on the other blog as requested… am I supposed to pull a copy from CVS to test?

Show,
The beta is closed right now, but anyone can download and compile the source if they are so motivated. Beware, it’s not 100% stable yet (but it’s very usable).
Here are instructions on compiling it yourself

Thoughts on Zooomr so Far…
I have been using Zooomr for just over a month now. Overall, the site is nice and it has some very interesting features. Portals were recently added and I really like the Geo-tagging feature. That’s how I managed to see some of the Sunflower F…
